Wimmer's believes there is only one way to serve our customers - The Right Way, The Wimmer's Way. This philosophy was started in 1934 by George Wimmer Sr., founder of Wimmer's Meat Products. George Wimmer Sr. was a native of Hainfeld, Austria, where he served his apprenticeship in the butcher and sausage-making trade. He migrated to the United States in 1914 and settled in Milwaukee. In 1934, George and his wife Lisbet moved their family to Snyder, Nebraska, and opened a small butcher shop and sausage kitchen. George's meat formulas, old-world spice recipes and reputation for uncompromised quality were quickly recognized. He believed that in order to make quality products for his customers he must start with quality ingredients.

Wimmer's Meat Products is the parent company for four quality sausage brands. Each brand is known for it's unique taste. We are a family owned sausage and hot dog maker who has produced the Wimmer's brand of products since 1934. In 1995 we purchased the Minnesota based Bassett brand and brought production to Nebraska. "That led us to the purchase of another Minnesota company, Ambassador." said Dave Wimmer, president and third-generation owner. That purchase prompted substantial growth, because the Ambassador brand services the Minneapolis and St. Paul area." In April of 2004, we acquired Fairbury Brand Meats of Fairbury, Nebraska. "All three brands we've purchased were family companies that believed in quality and reputation, so it's been a good match. Wimmer's product line offers a variety of products to satisfy everyone's craving. We produce an exceptional line of natural casing wieners, skinless wieners, natural-casing link sausages, braunschweiger, summer sausage, smokies, sliced lunchmeats and deli meats. Wimmer's works hard to provide our customers with sausages, cured meats and deli meats of superior quality and character. We use only the highest quality cuts of meat, only natural spices and hardwood smoke for our sausages to achieve unmatched flavor. In addition, all our products pass USDA inspection as well as Wimmer's own high standard of quality. We believe that wieners taste best when put into a natural casing. We hardwood smoke to gently penetrate the meat. The aroma of natural smoking can never be duplicated. All our wieners are naturally smoked and fully cooked.

Wimmer's Cured Smoked Beef is made using the same old-fashioned recipe George Wimmer Sr. began using over sixty years ago. We trim select inside beef rounds, and cure them with our special recipe. These rounds are then slowly smoked with natural hardwood chips. We, as a company, take great pride in producing this highly specialized smoked beef. Nationwide, only a few companies still exist that take the time and care to make this product and make it well.
